A Few Pictures

Will is thinking “Not ANOTHER picture!”

PepperAnn and Will love each other.

This was Will’s first time to wear a bib.

Too precious.

15 Days
Today Will is 15 days old. I can’t decide if it’s been the longest or shortest 15 days of my life! We have been having lots of fun – eating, sleeping and pooping. PepperAnn has taken to sleeping upstairs – she doesn’t do well being sleep deprived. Sometimes Bill sleeps upstairs because it makes me anxious when Will is fussy at night and I know that Bill’s not getting any sleep and he has get up and work.
As you probably know, we went to the pediatrician on Friday and Will was almost a pound below his birthweight. Not good – he was suppose to have been back up to at least 8 pounds by yesterday. So, we have to make sure that he is getting enough to eat. So since Friday we have been working to get him enough and by last night – he had gained 1/2 a pound! Yay!
Will likes “playing” in his bouncer.
Why can’t he sleep this soundly at night?
Will’s friend Javen came for a visit. His friend Mason came over too but we forget to get their picture.
Endora came for a few days – she and Will fell asleep but PepperAnn made sure they were both ok.

A Little Update
Well, I don’t really have much to update on these days. I’m not doing too great on my scripture memory. I definately don’t have the entire first chapter of James memorized but I’m working on it. Anything I memorize will be more than I did have! This week in the high school curriculum they are talking about “the fall” and man sinning. One of the points they made was that when Eve was tempted she did not know God’s word accurately (Did God say you couldn’t eat from any tree?) and Satan used that to deceive her. But that when Jesus was tempted in the desert he knew God’s word accurately and used it correctly and was able to resist temptation. That was really challenging to me. How can I know what God wants me to do and resist temptation if I don’t know His word? Maybe that will be a challenge to you too.
This weekend my Mom came up to visit. We had a good time eating out and just hanging out at the house. She couldn’t believe how clean our house was – but the secret is that it is so uncomfortable for me to bend over and pick stuff up off the floor that I’ve been really good about cleaning up after myself (like hanging up clothes or putting them in the basket). On Sunday we went to church but as soon as the service was about to start the power went out! It was a little chaotic. We were suppose to have a leaders lunch meeting after church so it got moved up earlier and we had to meet at Bar-B-Cutie instead of the church. Bill and my mom went to Cracker Barrel.
Well, I guess I had more to talk about than I thought!

Dana & Jonny’s Wedding
I guess since we’re related – I’ll start calling Jonathan – Jonny. Just kidding!
The wedding was absolutely gorgeous. The weather cooperated nicely – it was hot but it was not miserable. And the wedding was so fun. I even danced
Dana was stunning in her dress – just like a princess.
I told myself that I wasn’t going to cry but a few tears did slip out. Thankfully, God sent a distraction so that I wouldn’t bust out into an ugly cry. When Dana handed me her bouquet – a bee flew into it! I was afraid that it would sting me or stay in there and sting Dana when I handed it back. A needed distraction
Bill took a few snapshots of the rehearsal dinner and wedding – Enjoy!

Snow and Tori!
Friday morning I had to wake up early to get across town by 8:30 am. The night before Bill gave me a stern warning – Don’t wake me up when you get up! I got up and took a shower (as quietly as I could) and then as I was passing the window that holds the air conditioner I saw a large pile of SNOW! So, I went into the bedroom and whispered as loud as I could – IT SNOWED! Of course Bill jumped out of bed and was glad I woke him up! By Friday afternoon we had over 6 inches of snow!
Friday night we had dinner with Tori. We had a good time – we ate at Chevy’s in Times Square. After dinner we went to Rockefeller Center and saw the ice skating rink, 30 Rock and where the Today show is taped. Then we took her to see a New York City apartment – ours! She said it was bigger than she thought it would be.
Today we went out to Roosevelt Island again. This time we rode the tram across – it was fun! Over on Roosevelt Island we walked through the snow and built a snow man.
We are enjoying the snow while it lasts!

Thanksgiving
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving in New York City! My sister, Mom and Mimi came up to celebrate. We wore ourselves out trying to fit everything in and I had to spend all day Sunday in bed recuperating!
My family arrived on Wednesday afternoon and it seemed like it took them FOREVER to get to our apartment. They rode on the Super Shuttle from JFK and they said it was the most horrible thing they have ever experienced! They thought they were going to die or throw up on the ride. On Wednesday night we ate NY style pizza, took a tour of Columbia, went to Times Square and Grand Central Station and then walked up 5th Avenue. Then we had to go home and get in bed because we had a very early Thursday morning!
Thursday bright and early we headed out to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. We got to the parade route around 7 am – 2 hours before the parade started. We were about 3 people back but the 2 rows in front of us all had chairs so we had a perfect view. The parade was good and a lot of fun. The floats were so huge up close and they weren’t very high up in the air. On TV it looks like they are so high but they were really pretty close to the ground.
After the parade we came home and ate Thanksgiving dinner. Delicious! We had a cheese and grape plate for appetizer, Caesar Salad, turkey, cheddar mashed potatoes, green beans, vegetable medley, crescent rolls, stuffing, gravy and banana pudding. Yummy! It was all so good and we had plenty of left overs. Thanksgiving afternoon we just chilled out, played games, and took a nap.
Friday was a busy day! First, we took a ferry to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. I enjoyed going to Ellis Island and seeing all the different areas and learning the process of being “processed.” Then, we at lunch at Peanut Butter and Company – I of course ate the Cinnamon Raisin Swirl, Dana got peanut butter and banana, Mom got a white chocolate, orange marmalade and almond sandwich, Mimi got Fluffernutter and Bill got PB&J. Then it was off for some shopping in SoHo and Chinatown. Everyone got “very good prices” in Chinatown on some COACH purses, wallets and a Chanel purse. Friday night Dana, Mom and Mimi went to the Radio City Music Show to see the Rockettes. They said it was a great show! The best they had ever seen!
Saturday was another busy day! We got up and went to Rockefeller Center to see 30 Rock and the skating rink, then we went to the top of the Empire State Building. The visibility was really great – 25 miles! After the ESB we went to Macy’s and saw Santaland and the ball that will drop in Times Square on New Year’s. Finally, we took a carriage ride around Central Park.
We had such a good time! It was very warm and very cold over Thanksgiving weekend. Such weird weather. Now, we are looking forward to Christmas vacation. I will arrive on December 18 and Bill will arrive December 21! We can’t wait to see everybody and go to Wal-Mart
I can’t post any of my pictures until December 1 because I have met my quota for the month of November. So, check back for pictures of Thanksgiving weekend.

Wonderful Weekend
As everyone knows, Bill and Gayle came up to visit us this weekend! We had such a great time! The schedule was packed and we exhausted ourselves but loved every minute of it. Friday afternoon Bill and Gayle were waiting on the stoop when I got home. We ate lunch at our favorite pizza place then I took them on a tour of Columbia and then we went down to Macy’s and the Empire State Building. Bill met us at the Empire State Building when he got off work. (By the way, he is absolutely loving his job!)
On Saturday our schedule was packed including: The TODAY show, NBC studios tour, Serendipity and 5th Avenue shops. Saturday night we saw the musical Mamma Mia. It was so good – funny with lots of great singing and dancing. It was very entertaining. Our seats were actually on the last two rows but they were great seats – were able to see everything going on. If this show comes your way it is a good choice to see!
Sunday was our “relaxed” day but it was still pretty exhausting! We started the day by going on a boat ride past Ellis Island and the Statute of Liberty. It was fun to be out on the water and get such a close view of the Statue. She is so big! You don’t realize it until you see her that close. Afterwards we went to Greenwich Village and ate lunch at Peanut Butter and Company. Big Bill had a peanut butter and strawberry, Gayle had p.b and bread and butter pickles, Bill had Fluffernutter and I had cinnamon raisin p.b. with vanilla creme cheese and apple slices! Then we walked through SoHo and went to the Scholastic store. Sunday afternoon we went on a horse drawn carriage ride through Central Park. That was fun and relaxing! Sunday night we went out for Bill’s birthday dinner at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse. It was so delicious – the best steak I have ever eaten! I want to go there for my birthday too!
We had such a good time and can’t wait for more people to come and visit!
