Wordless Wednesday: Thomas’ First Bike Ride

New York City

We just got back from spending 3 great days in New York City! We were sad that Thomas didn’t get to go with us because he was sick {but we quickly figured out that going with just 1 kid was WAY easier} and we’ll take him someday soon. We only took pictures with our phones because it’s easy and I have a project idea I want to do with them. Most of the pictures are on Bill’s phone so those will come another day.

Will is a great traveler. He loved flying and had such good behavior even when we had to wait 3 hours at the airport because our flight was delayed. On our first flight from Chattanooga to Atlanta the flight attendant jokingly said, “Welcome to our direct flight to Acapulco.” and Will loudly responded, “Acapulco, what that mean?” The whole plane was laughing!

We spent several hours {over 2 different trips} at Books of Wonder on E. 18th. Will loved all of the fun pop-up books and we went to story time on Sunday afternoon.

We ate tons of good food and ended our trip with lunch at P.J. Clarke’s. They have delicious burgers, fries, homemade chips with blue cheese dip and this time I tried their Caesar chicken salad and it was good too.

We had to wait a few minutes at P.J. Clarke’s for a table so the bartender set Will up with some cherries and oranges. While Will was sitting there a NYPD officer came in and asked if he had been properly carded. While Will stared at him wide-eyed the man sitting one chair down said not to answer any questions because he was his attorney. It was funny.

We took Will to Toys R Us in Times Square to ride the Ferris Wheel. He loved it! We were glad he got to ride in the Mega Bloks taxi cab and not the Barbie or Cabbage Patch car :)

Nashville!

We spent Saturday – Tuesday in Nashville and I only took 1 picture of all the fun we had! Oh well, we were too busy having fun. Javen, Liam & Will were dressed up as various super heroes.

We went up Saturday and had Thomas’ 1 year pictures taken. I can’t wait to see how they turned out! Then we spent Saturday night with our friends Megan & Ben and ate a delicious dinner at Demos’ (one of our favorites!) It was great to see them and catch up and I’m thankful that they were such good sports and played The Hungry Caterpillar game about 100 times and were good sports when Will had us all singing Jesus Loves Me while he played the Rock Band drums!

We went to ClearView Sunday morning and had a great time worshiping with friends. Our next visit I am going to plan better so we can see more people! We also got to eat lunch with some sweet friends.

On Sunday, Bill went home & Honey came up because she had training in Nashville on Monday and Tuesday. We stayed a couple of nights at a hotel and Will went swimming 3 times!

Monday morning ClearView’s preschool ministry was having a special Valentine’s event so I took the boys. It was so much fun! They had several tables set up with different activities from stacking candy hearts to jumping over hearts. It was all centered around God’s Big Love.

Monday afternoon and Tuesday we got to hang out with some of our favorite friends, the McDaniel’s. Will loved the familiarity of playing at their house and the loud, crazy, awesome fun he always has with Javen & Liam. And I enjoyed a little snuggle time with little sister Saige (when Thomas wasn’t screaming in protest of me holding someone else!)

We had a great time and can’t wait until our next visit!

Snow Day!

Yesterday afternoon it started to snow and we got about 2-3 inches at our house. We took Will out for a few minutes yesterday but it was so windy we couldn’t stay out for long. This afternoon Bill took him out for a little bit more fun in the snow. Enjoy!
