So much for me avoiding smokers – I still might die of lung disease. No, not cancer but POPCORN LUNG.

Seriously, a man has been diagnosed with a lung disease associated with whatever they use to make buttered microwave popcorn. I love popcorn and now it’s hazardous to my health! But, so are Oreos, E.L. Fudge, and Cokes.

Granted this man popped 2 or 3 bags of popcorn everyday for 10 years. I only pop 2 or 3 bags a week. So, I guess it would take me abou 71 years to develop popcorn lung.

He also said that he loved the smell of fresh popcorn and would inhale deeply when he opened the bag. But, seriously who doesn’t do that?

I am obviously not too concerned about this since I am eating popcorn while writing this and my does it smell delicious!

So, we have new pet. Her name is Midge and she is a pigeon. She has been staring at us through our window every morning! And today Bill stuck his head out the window and got this creepy feeling that something was staring at him – it ws Midge! She lives under our air conditioner. So, we took a picture of her. Speaking of pets – we got to pet a dog tonight – two actually! One was a black lab and the other was a lab/cocker mix. They were so cute and friendly!

We finished unpacking this afternoon and the apartment looks so great! I’ve posted all the pictures – they should be on the right side toolbar. Thanks for all the comments on my blog! It’s so fun to read them! Keep them coming!

Tonight Bill and I went to an activity on campus. They had Samba lessons and then showed the movie “Favela Rising”. We wathced and enjoyed the dancing. The movie was really good – it is about a man who grew up in a favela (slum) of Brazil and after all the violence and killing decided not to become a drug soldier but started the Afro Reggae group. The Afro Reggae group are singers, dancers and drummers and it has helped to radically change their favel and many others! This is a great movie to watch – it really makes you thankful for everything you have!
