His teachers said that he had a really great day. That is always good to hear! He had fun playing on the playground, seeing the train and finger painting. He also ate all of his snack and lunch plus some extra pretzels. Yay! Today was a short day but Thursday is the first full day so we’ll see how the napping at school works for him.

And of course we had to get some “first day of school” pictures this morning!

If you see me or Bill today and we look like this sad, tired creature blame it on Will! We had grand plans for after Will went to sleep last night – Bill was going to work in the playroom and I was going to go and browse Micheal’s! Because seriously, do you know how impossible it is to browse with a 2 year old?

Instead, I put Will to bed and he screamed at the top of his lungs for a good 15 minutes so I went and got him and laid down with him in our bed. Fast forward an hour and Will is still awake and wanting to get down. So, I put him back upstairs in his crib. 20 more minutes of screaming and crying and Bill comes out of the playroom and we both lay down with Will in our bed. Will finally fell asleep around 10 as did I! Bill put him upstairs in his crib and he slept peacefully until oh, 3:15. Then he was crying again and I went and got him, again. He tossed and turned and talked until about 5:00 am and then slept until 7:30. Oh, what a long and fun night!

One day last week Will took pleasure in wallowing all over his stuffed puppies (and 1 cow!)

In 10 short days we find out if baby Dixon #2 is a boy or a girl and at that point I am sure that I will be anxious to start either decorating a nursery or a big boy room for Will. In preparation of converting the guest room into a kid’s bedroom I started on transferring my craft things downstairs today.

We rearranged our master bedroom a couple of weeks ago to make room for a small desk and Will and I picked up the desk this past weekend. The desk was my great-grandfather’s and that makes it really special to me. I love having things in my house that have history and sentimental value!

The only thing I got accomplished today was bringing all of the stuff downstairs! Seriously, I don’t know how I’m going to organized these things And I still have more stuff upstairs that I know just aren’t going to fit down here.

While I was transferring things from upstairs the kid was either following me up and down the steps or playing. Isn’t he the cutest?!?!

This afternoon I heard the pantry door open, a bag rustle and then the sound of about a million pretzels hitting the linoleum. When I turned around and looked this is the face I saw. Uh-oh!

He was really quite proud of his huge mess. I pulled the garbage can over and we started throwing away all the pretzels. But, Will got a little side tracked…..

…….. and ate some of the “trash.” PepperAnn got a few pretzels to snack on too!

Did you know that we are adding a playroom to our house?!?! Will and I are so excited. I particularly can’t wait to have a place specifically for toys so that they’re not all over the living room. On Saturday Bill finished putting the insulation and flooring down and he was ready to put up the walls.

Thanks to our friends, the McAtee’s, Bill was able to work fast on the framing using a nail gun. I was a little jealous that I didn’t get to use it!

Will liked staying upstairs and watching Bill work through the doorway. He loves his daddy! I worked a little downstairs but mostly relaxed and played with Will. Here are a few recent pictures of Will chillaxin’. He does it with such style!

Look at that cheesy smile! Will got a nap mat for school and he LOVES laying on it with puppy (who is his constant nap and bedtime companion)!

We haven’t yet given much thought to names so I guess after the 10th we will get busy with that and deciding how to do rooms upstairs. I know that we will move Will to what is now the “guest” room and after we know boy/girl we will know whether we want new nursery decorations or to make Will a “big boy” room. So excited either way!

I don’t have one clue or inking whether Baby Dixon #2 is a boy or girl! Do you?!?!  Vote in the poll whether you think boy or girl….there might be a prize for one of the people that guesses right. And no, we probably won’t be naming the baby after you

We decided to go to Peek-A-Boo Playtown since it is still so hot outside. It was an experience to say the least. There were SO many kids there but I think Will really enjoyed playing with the cars, trains, buggies, and balls. After a couple of hours of playing we went to Chili’s for lunch where Will devoured chips and salsa. The kid can’t get enough salsa.Will fell asleep in the car on the way home and he and Papa spent a little quality time like this:

It got time for my Dad to leave and I picked up Will to put him in his crib to continue napping. As soon as I laid him down he woke up crying and calling for “Papa.” So, Will and Papa played for a few more minutes before he had to leave. Will was clinging to Papa crying when he had to go and continued crying for at least 20 minutes after he left, calling out for Papa. Later when I talked to my Dad he said that he had cried for about that long on the drive home! What are we going to do with those two?!?!

This is my “halfway done” picture. I spray painted them white and next I am going to distress some of the edges. Believe it or not, this is the first time I’ve used spray paint! I was ridiculously nervous but I think they turned out pretty good.

While I was spray painting (and carefully avoiding breathing in too many fumes) Will was playing with his basketball and golf club. And I could NOT get him to even glance at the camera, silly boy. And yes, he didn’t have any clothes on. We’re classy that way – and I mentioned how hot it was.

I then thought it would be a good idea to go to a few thrift stores. Ha, ha, ha! It was not a good idea! It got so unbearably hot that Will and I were both sweating, I got a headache and Will was generally cranky. We made it to 1 store. But we went to a Goodwill Outlet. What? You’ve never heard of a Goodwill outlet? I hadn’t either until Bill told me about it this weekend. I didn’t know what to expect but I think I liked it. For most of their stuff – you pay by the pound. Yes, by the pound! It is not organized like a regular goodwill store so you have to dig but I found a couple of picture frames and a little rocking chair. The chair needs some TLC but I think with a good cleaning and some new paint it will be perfect!

We were close to Bill’s work so we called him and went and ate lunch together. Will was acting like a crazy fool (as usual) and fell on the pavement. It was a big milestone – his first really skint knee! He cried and cried. And when he got done crying he continuously relived the event by having the following conversation.

Will: Mommy (or Daddy)

Us: Yes, Will?

Will: Down! (while emphatically pointing towards the grown)

Us: You fell down?

Will: Boo! Boo! (while pointing at his knee and generally looking ready to burst into tears)

Us: You got a boo boo? I’m sorry!

This is the best picture I could get of the boo boo. It doesn’t look that bad now but it was pretty impressive when it was all dirty and bleeding!

Yesterday, Honey came up after work for an overnight visit. I may have procrastinated all day and still been in my pajamas when she showed up Oh well! At least Will was clean (kinda). And to make things even better Bill got off work a few minutes early. We ate a DELICIOUS dinner at J. Alexanders. I think I could live off of there spinach queso and chips.

This morning we played at the house and then decided to go up to a shopping area in Hendersonville and play in the fountains. Will LOVED playing in the water – he is so fun to watch. There was also a small farmers market and I got some corn and peaches. The peaches are so tasty – I ate one at dinner and so did Will. Yes, Will at an entire peach! Will totally scored when we went to The Children’s Place! He is going to look so stylish this fall. We had a good time with Honey and we’re glad she came but we sure did miss Papa!

We also rearranged our bedroom and I’m working on a few projects to spruce it up – I’ll try to remember to take a picture to show when I’m done. For now, Will and I are playing downstairs while Bill puts in some work in the attic. Will is loving it since it means he gets to stay up past “night, night” time!
