Mom Monday: 30 by 30

I have a little over 2 years before I turn 30 (gasp!) and I thought it would be fun to have a list of 30 things that I would like to do before then. Some of them will be easy and some of them will take a little effort, time and money. I am going to try to get them all done before I turn 30 but I know for sure the West Coast road trip will probably be after since we’re planning on doing that for our 10th anniversary!

  1. Run a 10K
  2. Run a 15K (Chickamauga Chase 4/21/12)
  3. Run a 1/2 Marathon
  4. Take a West Coast road trip
  5. Own a mini-van
  6. Become a foster parent
  7. Makeover kitchen
  8. Clogging Performance
  9. Read through the Bible chronologically
  10. Get up to date with scrapbooking (Finished and ordered Thomas’ 1st Year book)
  11. Do Project Life (2013)
  12. Be a guest blogger
  13. Wear earrings at least 5 times
  14. Host Dixon Family Christmas
  15. Lose my “muffin top”
  16. Plant a garden
  17. Take family to NYC (June 2-4, 2012)
  18. Go to New Orleans
  19. Take boys to the county fair
  20. Read 10 books for fun (The Pastor’s Wife by Jennifer Allee/ On the Run, In Plain Sight & Invisible by Lorena McCourtney/ Daughter of Joy by Kathleen Morgan)
  21. Shoot a gun
  22. Read 1,000 Gifts and record my own
  23. Buy at least 1 Pinterest inspired outfit
  24. Learn how to use camera in manual mode
  25. Make a loaf of bread
  26. Do a Sprint Triathlon
  27. See 4 movies at the theater (The Hunger Games 4/4/12)
  28. Go on a “girls weekend” (3/30/12 – 4/1/12)
  29. Read 4 books to learn
  30. Go 1 week without eating fast food or at a restaurant

So, what are some things you would like to do in the next couple of weeks, months, years? Anything exciting?

You’ve inspired me to make my own list! If you still lived here, I would teach/take you to shoot a gun :)

I love this! Now I need to make one too! And let’s go on a girls weekend to NYC in August 😉

I would like to have been through every state. I think I only have about 10-12 left. I want to go for a ride in a hot air balloon ( I am expecting my son to take me, I think he is the only one that will go with me.) I want to go to visit one of my best friends who lives on the coast of California. I would like to build one more house (a one level). I would like to go deep sea fishing. I would like to start playing golf again. That’s just a start, I am sure I will come up with some more.

Oh my! After reading this I began thinking of all I have been privileged to do – yet I want to create my own list but would it be 65 by 65????? And would it be 65 things I’ve yet to do? I hope not because if that were so, I’d probably be dead by 66! I can’t believe Gayle wants to go for a ride in a Hot Air Balloon – I’ve wanted to do that for years! Bobby would never agree to it. I want to visit Alaska & Hawaii (the only states I’ve not visited). There are many more to be added – I think we should make our lists and all get together & compare! Amber, I love the way you can make me think!

At my age I would love to just “keep moving”!
Stay healthy enough to enjoy all these precious
great grandbabies as well as enjoy the parents’ hopes and dreams! It is admirable and important to always “dream” for the future! Besides, GOD’s earth is such a remarkable place to see and explore! Stay a dreamer!

I think you are all crazy—-riding in a hot air balloon. And as old as I am I don’t have time to do 76 more things. It makes me tired reading yours.

Stopped over from Cindy’s blog! I love your list! I might just have to make one of my own. I only have a little over a year to get mine done though. Yikes!
