Mom Monday: The Middle Half

On Saturday I did the craziest, hardest thing I’ve ever done in. my. life. Seriously. I ran my first half marathon – The Murfreesboro Middle Half Marathon. I have been training since May and it has been a fun process. I went from not being able to run 1 mile to running 13.1!

The race ended in MTSU’s stadium and when I crossed over from pavement to the track I literally almost cried! I couldn’t believe I had actually done it.

Posing with my Finisher’s Medal. I finished in 2:49:32 and the sweetest part was seeing Will running towards me and shouting “Mommy” as I crossed the finish line. Oh, and the fact that they announced your name as you finished was pretty awesome.

My friends Heather & Allison who also ran the race – and really taught me a lot about running and were very encouraging! I’m even considering making this a yearly event.

Will really enjoyed the race too! Especially the bounce house and obstacle course.

They were trying to “get rid” of oranges and Will was happy to help my eating a heaping plate full.

Have you done anything crazy or unexpected lately? Have you ever set out and accomplished a wild and crazy goal like running 13.1 miles or finishing all your laundry on the same day?
