Birthday Party Prep

I had a lot of fun planning Will’s 2nd birthday party. He is really into trains these days so a train themed party was perfect. We went with a “Thomas” theme since it is probably the last year we can get away with that – since baby Thomas will be here before the next birthday party.

I made train crayons to go in the goody bags. They were easy to make and really didn’t take too much time. I just melted crayons on the stove and poured them into a chocolate mold. Then I put it in the freezer for just a few minutes and they were ready to go!

The goody bags included the train crayons, some Thomas and Friends coloring sheets and stickers.

Bill designed the goody bag tags – aren’t they cute?

The living room was decorated with the train table and a train shaped “Happy 2nd Birthday” banner.

The other area we had decorated was our dining room. Above the armoire I cover our pictures with birthday wrapping paper. I thought I took some pictures of the food table but I guess I didn’t. Oh well. Each food item was “labeled” with a train shaped label. Have I mentioned how much I love my new Silhouette machine?

A special THANK YOU to Dana who came up and helped me get everything ready for the party! And a Thank You to my Dad who came up and entertained Will while I put Dana to work :)
