Some New & Exciting Things

1. Compassion International

Have you noticed the new “badge” on the right sidebar of The Dixon Dialogue?

Over Valentine’s weekend Bill and I had a lot of time to just talk. It was so nice! And when you’re without the baby for a few days you run out of things to say about the baby and have real, adult conversations. One thing we started talking about is what love really is and how it manifests itself in our lives. We had both been burdened/convicted/contemplating sponsoring a child through Compassion International. SO – we put “love” into action and chose a child! Our sponsored child is Naimer and he is almost 4 years old and lives in the Dominican Republic. We are so excited about partnering with Naimer over the next 15 years or so!

I also signed up to be a Compassion Blogger – meaning I will occasionally post about Compassion events, trips and updates. My first one will be coming this weekend!

2. Shout Out!

My blog got a shout out from another blog today. I was so excited that I called Bill and told him while he was at work A blog that I check nearly everyday is Frugal Wife = Wealthy Life. It is written by 2 sisters and their mom and just gives good, practical advice on ways to save money. Anyways, I commented the other day on how we only pay $13 for our basic cable and you have to remind the cable company that they do offer something that inexpensive and it got mentioned in their next post ! Whoo-hoo! Check out their blog – it’s pretty great.

3. Blog Award
