This morning Will & I headed to the library for storytime. The website read “Good Morning Storytime offers singing, dancing, and, of course, great stories every Tuesday from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m.” I had high hopes that is was going to be this great and wonderful half hour. You know, kind of like storytime in the movie You’ve Got Mail where everyone is so well behaved and Meg Ryan wears a princess tiara to read the story!
Today’s stories were about winter animals and we did sing some songs in between each story – but no dancing. It was fun and we will going back – maybe every Tuesday!! Will was well behaved and did a good job for his first storytime. He didn’t really want to sit down or sit in my lap so he just stood there and looked at either the librarian or the little girl beside him. I was proud!
Going to the library is one of the things that I am implementing for our new weekly routine. My friend Katie who blogs at Cleared for Takeoff recently joined a Mother’s of Preschoolers (MOPS) group and the first week they talked about the importance of having routine for your baby/toddler and taking pride in yourself. That got me thinking that Will and I needed some weekly activities and not lay around in our pj’s all day, every day.
So, this is the schedule I made up to try (we’ll see how it works):
Monday – House cleaning day
Tuesday – Storytime at the Library
Wednesday – Women’s Bible Study
Thursday – Play Day
Friday – Grocery Store
I took these pictures at Wal-Mart this afternoon while we were waiting at the pharmacy. They have these HUGE bears out for Valentine’s day and Will couldn’t resist them, so I let him play with one while we waited!
