Today Will and I went to a play group for the first time! Some mom’s from church have organized a play group that they invite everyone to attend – so we joined in on the fun this morning. Today’s activity was visiting the Brentwood Fire Station.
Will was so cute in his fireman suit! At one point, all the kids were being quite so they could hear the fireman talk but Will thought they wanted him to tell them what it was like to be a fireman! He doesn’t understand “shhh” yet, either!
Here we are posing in front of the firemen lockers. We got to check out where they ate, slept and worked out. Then – it was out to see the trucks!
Sitting on the front of the fire truck was so cool!
Checking out the fireman gear. (I could not get him to look at me for anything!)
Then they had a short fire safety lesson. Fireman Mike put on all his gear and the “scary” face mask. Then, Fireman Mike crawled around so all the kids could touch him and learn that he was our friend – and not to be scared.
Will wasn’t scared – he was fascinated!
We had such a fun time!
After the fire station we went to the Brentwood Library and read books about fire trucks! On a side note – this library is also Bill’s “office.” Bill discovered this free office space this week.
Will was so good that we finished the morning by playing on the playground. Will, as always, enjoyed the swing but he also discovered the joys of climbing up the slide and sliding back down (with Mom’s help.)!
