Want a Smart Baby? No TV

One of the things on my “I will never…” list is for Will not to watch TV until he is at least 2 years old. I know people think that this is ridiculous but study after study shows that TV is not good for infants and can lead to ADD, obesity and sleep disturbances. Researchers from Children’s Hospital of Boston and Harvard Medical School released a study this week that concluded that watching television does not make babies smarter. Contrary to popular belief, TV viewing is not beneficial to children’s brain development.

  1. It’s so crazy how quickly things are happening- he seems to just be growing so fast! Love these pics- he is such a cutie!!! That definitely sounds like a good article about the TV… I’m sure once we have a little one, I’ll have a lot of reading to do! :)

I understand your point on not letting him watch TV for children but don’t you think he watches it when you are watching it? I also believe that a lot of television supposedly for children is extremely rude and disrespectful. And does not convey the values that you would hope to instill in Will.

Pepperann will pay more attention to Will the more he is able to do. However, in these pictures she looks like she is just about ready to spring the coop!

I KNOW! Which is why I have to turn off the TV starting this week. Plus, I am addicted to TV and it makes me grouchy. Hopefully, it will be successful.
