Getting in the Swing of Things

We have had a couple of adventures this week:

First, I made it through my first week of being a high school ministry assistant! It’s not easy. It’s a lot work but it’s also a lot of fun. It’s nice to have a nice boss that I like – I have to say that b/c his wife reads the blog :) Just kidding! I have had some pretty bad ones in my short career.

Second, a WILD BEAST lives in our back yard. The other day Bill was in the backyard playing with PepperAnn (I’m not sure how he bills those minutes!) and a huge dog emerged from the large drainage pipe that ends near the back of our yard. It started coming towards them and they ran into the house! We have seen it a couple of times since and we think it lives in the drainage pipe! We’ll have to call animal control or something.

Third, we have been to every home improvement store in Antioch, Brentwood and Franklin to pick up paint samples. We even bought a couple of samples jars to test out on the walls but those colors were just yucky! Good thing we got samples first. We think we have finally picked out a blue for the bedroom and a green for the living room. Now, just to start painting!

Fourth, Bill has almost decided to get a lawn mower without an engine. We saw these in Lowe’s when we first got here and I was making fun of them. But, now we may own one. Bill thinks it will be “green” because according to him – lawn equipment puts off the most pollutants of practically anything we use. Plus, our yard isn’t that big. We’ll see.

Fifth, we’ve made a priority list of things we want to do on the inside of our house. Paint the living room and bedroom, set up the guest room/office, purchase a nice kitchen table and hutch for our beautiful china, and then get bedroom furniture. Somewhere in the midst of all that we will be setting up the nursery!! So, obviously this is our long term plan. If you see any awesome designs or modern furniture send the info our way. We did buy a new TV this past week. It’s fairly large and we’re going to put it on the wall in the living room. But, Bill will need some help putting it up on the wall so for the time being it’s sitting on top of the dresser in the bedroom.

I guess that’s all for now!

On the subject of the beast: Just make sure it isn’t a coyote. They prey on small dogs and other small animals. Sounds like you are ready for the painters to arrive. Have brush will travel!!
I’m sure we’ll see you soon.

Pack Pepperann and send her back before something gets her! Check with your dr. before painting! Sounds like you’ve got it all planned out as usual!

Hey Guys, talk to Kevin Neely in our SS class about the TV. His wife, Brandy, was in class today. He can get you setup with the TV on the wall. He just did my brothers this weekend.

So good to hear things are coming together for you and the new home. Amber, do be careful as your Mom said when you’re around paint. That can be harmful for the baby. I know the house will look so cute when you finish all the decorating. You’ve always made your place look nice…. We are all so pleased to have you near us! Have you decided what you want to use for the nursery? So many questions from us! Just know we love you and are so happy things are going OK.

So I honestly believe that Pepper Ann would be better off here with me… We do not have any beast… So I’m guessing I will have a punch list when i get there on Thursday…. Can’t wait!
