It’s About Time!

I know that is what you’ve been thinking! So, here it is an update on life (and boy is it busy!).

Lets see.. how many things can 2 people do in the span of about 2 weeks?

  1. Saw WICKED on Broadway
  2. Graduated from Columbia
  3. Packed an apartment
  4. Moved to Tennessee
  5. Bought a house
  6. Go on a job interview
  7. Went to Chattanooga
  8. Brought a U-haul full of stuff to Nashville (ok, technically Bill and Gayle did this)
  9. Organize a kitchen
  10. Get a job
  11. Install a shower door

I think that is about all we did – but I could be forgetting a couple of things!

We LOVE our house! We still can’t believe that this is where we live :) It seems so huge – especially compared to our NYC apartment. We have a few things here that were in “storage” but we are still waiting on our things from NYC to arrive – hopefully it will be here by Saturday. The first thing on our list of things to buy are blinds. Because we have no TV or lamps we have been in bed by 9:30 and then because we have nothing to block the sun we are up at sunrise. It’s not too bad but I usually like to stay up late and sleep late.

Bill is back to work. Until today we didn’t have an internet connection so he had to sit in the kitchen and pick up someone else’s unsecured wireless network in order to do his job. I should mention that we don’t have a table or anything in the kitchen yet. So, it was a pretty funny sight to behold.

I went on a job interview but it is not something I am interested in doing. It consisted of enrolling people in Medicaid waiver programs in 13 counties. Too much driving when gas is 4 bucks a gallon. But, I have an interim gig until I find a social work job or until they hire a full time person. I am going to be the High School Ministry assistant at they church we go to.  Our friend Matt is the high school minister and he had mentioned that he needed help – so I applied. I start Monday – if my references check out :) It will be fun and it will get me out of the house (I get bored too easy).

It is great to have PepperAnn back again! You have no idea how much I missed that little dog. I think she is enjoying the new house. PA particularly likes looking out the front window and laying in the driveway during the day. She likes to watch the construction workers across the street. Three houses are going up across from us. It’s a little noisy now but they are the last houses to be build close to us. It will be nice when they are finished in a few months. (Hopefully before November)

I think that is all that is going on with us these days. When is everyone planning to come and visit us? Hopefully we’ll have a guest room set up soon!

  4. Amber,

Glad that you are back in TN and helping out with the ClearView youth. Let us know if you need any help moving stuff back in once your NYC stuff gets here!

WOW!! What a couple of weeks you’ve had. Do you think you can adjust to the slow pace of the south? It sounds as if you have things under control with the moving! Remember, I’m great at unpacking boxes. (And my school “obligation” is over until fall.) So if you need someone who can sleep on the floor and carry boxes for you, I’m your gal!

Seriously, take care of yourself and BabyDixon — that is the most important thing.

It’s wonderful having you back in TN. Hope to get over and see your home, you and Bill and Pepperanne…I bet she is happy to have you back in her life, but I know she misses her other home too. Hope you are slowing down a little and getting plenty of rest. Take care of our new little “Dixon”! Love you all!!!!!

OK — we’ve seen what two people can do in a couple of weeks, but the real question is: “HOW MANY TIMES CAN AMBER GO TO WALMART IN TWO WEEKS?”
