What should I fix when our neighbors come to eat dinner? She is from Colombia and she wants an authentic southern dinner!

MEATLOAF, PINTO BEANS , MASHED POTATOES AND CORNBREAD. AND OF COURSE, “SWEET” TEA. tHOSE YANKEES
DON’T KNOW WHAT THAT IS.
Fried chicken, mashed potatoes, pinto beans, fruit salad and rolls or cornbread. Then you should serve them strawberry shortcake for dessert. And of course, “sweet tea”.
Throw in some fried okra! Or maybe some fried green tomatoes!!
The other menu for a real southern meal is the Fried Chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy (for use with biscuits) and green beans. Sweet Tea and Apple Pie with a scoop of Ice Cream. Yum!!!.
I agree fried chicken is truly southern — but a different direction would be bar-b-que and all the “fixin’s”. If you fix fried green tomatoes be sure to save some for me as I LOVE them!!!
Hope you all are happy now – ’cause I’m starvin!! So who down here is going to fix a “southern meal” for me?
Sorry, it’s been a while since I’ve checked your blog. Have you had your truly southern meal with your neighbors yet?
