Rooftop Dining

Tonight Bill and I ate at “The Heights Bar and Grill.” The restaurant is at 115th and Broadway – just a few blocks from where we live. It’s not located street level so you have to walk up this narrow and kinda dingy stairwell to the restaurant. We decided to eat on the roof! It was so neat! We sat outside and it was fun to look at all the buildings allĀ around and listen to the music. The food was also delicious! We said it felt very “New Yorky.”

We also went to the drug store to pick up some essentials and then we heard screaming and a commotion by the entrance. Police had handcuffed a woman for shoplifting and she was struggling to get away. They were still “frisking” her when we left.

Bill and I have been talking a lot about our future lately. We think we may want to start our own business – a consulting firm. We could provide branding and technology services as well as grant writing and program evaluations. We would need some years of experience before this is possible but it’s exciting to think about!

I have one week off then it’s time for some real work! Classes start and then my internship starts September 17th!

I think I would like dining as you did. I had the pleasure of eating at “Top of the World” several years ago. That was the restaurant on the top floor of the World Trade Center. I really enjoyed the view and the meal. If it ever cools off, Bobby & I will dine “outdoors” but I’m afraid it will only be a grilled hamburger on our deck!!

    Love to you both!

PS — can I have a job when you start your business?

I’m so excited reading about all the adventures you are having! Just great! If you do go into business in the future, I know it would be a success: After all it would be operated by a couple of “FINE DIXONS”! How could you beat that?

Last night I couldn’t sleep and was thinking about the two of you and the possibility of you having your own company — just a suggestion, but I don’t think you should use your initials to name the company:
    Bill & Amber Dixon =

    B.A.D. CONSULTING!!!

I don’t think that works — do you?

WOW! Where did that come from? I say continue to follow your dreams as long as they align with God’s will and you can support yourself!
